The Port of Skagit takes its stewardship of the La Conner Marina seriously. To ensure the marina continues to operate as a high-quality, useful facility for maritime purposes, the Port maintains a master plan to guide future developments.
The Port anticipates replacing many of the in water facilities within the next 8 to 15 years. According to the plan, the demand for larger boat slips should be addressed as part of an overall reconfiguration strategy, while upland dry boat storage may need to be expanded to address the needs of smaller boats. In the Preferred Option for in-water redevelopment, the Marina would be composed of mostly double slips, with single slips on the western side of the westernmost docks. The uplands plan calls for development of a dry stack storage facility to accommodate up to 340 boats, located at the southeast corner of the North Basin.
