Airport Prepared for Surprise Snowstorm

Burlington – The Port of Skagit crew was ready when a surprise snowstorm blanketed Skagit Regional Airport this morning. As soon as the snow was deep enough to warrant attention, the port’s snowblower and snowplow began clearing the taxiway and main runway. The work will continue as needed to keep to airport open.

At noon, snow was continuing to fall and the temperature was 27 degrees, with wind from the north at 9 mph.
