EDASC Offers Summer Business Workshops

Mount Vernon -- The Economic Development Association of Skagit County is hosting a series of workshops in July designed to help businesses survive and even thrive. Unless otherwise listed, all workshops are at the EDASC offices at 204 West Montgomery, Mount Vernon. Register on-line at least 24 hours before the workshop at www.skagit.org.

July 13 – Planning and Financing a Business.  A three-and-a-half-hour odyssey of what it takes to start and maintain a high performing business. From financing to business plans this is a must do for anyone who has recently started or is considering to launch a business. FREE. 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Refreshments provided.

July 15 – Understanding Business Credit.  Warning, what you have heard on TV or radio may not be true! In this informative session, a panel of local bankers will be discussing the truth and fiction of business credit and lending in today’s marketplace. From finding and qualifying for capital to how business and personal credit connect all the secrets will be shared.  $10 member, $20 non-members.  Noon – 1:30 .pm. Lunch provided.

July 20 – QuickBooks users Group.  Are you a QuickBooks user? Join forces with other users to share tips, tricks, frustrations and successes. Sessions are moderated by a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and are sure to assist you in your quest of accounting. This session is held every other  month on the third Tuesday.  $10 member, $15 non-members. Noon – 1:30 p.m. Lunch provided.

July 29 – Incentive Programs.  There may be no better time to start or expand a business then right now. A multitude of state and federal programs provide access to tax credits to help you expand. From construction to hiring to even employee training it may surprise you to the extent of assistance available to lower your cost of taking your business to the next level. Presented by a team of experts from: Washington Department of Commerce, Department of Revenue, State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, Moss Adams and more. $10 member, $20 non-members. Noon – 1:30 p.m. Lunch provided.
