Port of Skagit Expands Industrial Land Holdings on Bayview Ridge

The Port of Skagit has acquired 123 acres of land for a new industrial park it is developing on Bayview Ridge.

The Port of Skagit Commission approved the purchase of five parcels off Peterson Road, adjacent to the Bayview Business Park, to allow for light manufacturing and processing facilities. The $11.65 million purchase was funded by an $8 million bond.

“We are gaining more industrial land near the airport, which is a good thing for our community,” said Port of Skagit Commission President Dr. Kevin E. Ware. “We are now in a position to locate additional businesses and in turn produce more good paying jobs.”

Property owner John Bouslog said the property is within the Bayview Ridge Urban Growth Area, a non-municipal Urban Growth Area, and zoned light industrial.

“The port shows great vision in expanding its industrial land base,” said Bouslog. “This expansion will continue to allow the port to create more good jobs in the future and provide strong support to Skagit County’s economy.”

Some of the selling points of the new industrial property, besides its size, are its proximity to the airport, State Route 20 and Interstate 5.
