Port of Skagit Hosts Promise Training

Burlington – The Port of Skagit recently hosted training for colleague companies that provide services on port properties to make them aware of the port’s brand and the promise that is a big component of it.

The port staff developed the promise to describe how they want customers, partners and constituents to feel about who they are and the experiences they provide. Here’s what it says:

“We promise excellence in public service and leadership within a business landscape that inspires success and enhances the quality of life in Skagit County.”

The training, held in morning and afternoon sessions for the convenience of the colleagues, featured Duane Knapp, chairman of BrandStrategy Inc. and author of the BrandPromise®. He is a worldwide brand expert, author and advisor to more than 300 brands in 14 countries.

In all, 24 people from eight companies attended the training, which was held at the port’s administrative offices on Sept. 23.
