Port offices closed due to snow

Burlington -- Port of Skagit offices at Skagit Regional Airport and the La Conner Marina closed Wednesday and Thursday because of the snow. However, personnel continued working at both facilities to provide essential services.

In accordance with port policy, the airport crew will continue plowing the runway and taxiways as needed to keep them open until 5 p.m. The crew also has been shoveling snow at the terminal and plowing Higgins Airport Way and Bayview Business Park streets to keep them passable. At the marina, the crew has been plowing the streets and shoveling snow in high-traffic areas such as the dock ramps and rest rooms.

At 7:55 a.m. Thursday, weather conditions at Skagit Regional Airport were as follows: 27 degrees with broken clouds, winds light and visibility 6 miles. The altimeter setting was 30.01.
